What is system administration?

A system administrator's (sysadmin) duties include managing, troubleshooting, licensing, and updating software and hardware assets. In this role, you make sure appropriate measures and processes are followed to respond to unforeseen issues like IT downtime so organizations can keep their networks up and running efficiently.

What does a Linux system administrator do?

As a Linux system administrator, you are likely to play an active role in patching, compiling, securing, and troubleshooting Linux systems, amongst other responsibilities. System administrators should also be comfortable working with application and file servers, desktops, routers, wide area networks, databases, information security systems, cybersecurity protocols, and storage, as they are responsible for implementing changes and updates in multiple environments from development to production.

Yes, you will be prepared to sit for the Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS) exams through this course enrollment, which includes a voucher upon eligibility. The voucher covers both the exam fees and allows for a retake of the certifying exam if needed.

How long is the certification valid?
